It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown

Last weekend we went to a pumpkin patch in search of the Great Pumpkin.

I saw a lot of little pumpkins.

and a cow named Elmo that I got to pet. A cow says 'moo' and sometimes 'boo'.

I went on a hayride. That's my cousin Nick. He stayed in the wagon with me while everyone went out to pick pumpkins.

Mommy and Daddy found one for me that was just my size.

Wow! There sure are a lot of pumpkins!

Finally!! The Great Pumpkin has risen!

Happy Halloween!

Pull up a chair and get comfy, I've got a lot to say!

Let me start by apologizing for not giving you an update for almost a month, but it has been a very busy month. A lot of things happen once you turn 10 months old. It all started with a new tooth on a Saturday and continued with another tooth on Monday, 2 on Tuesday and then one more on Thursday...yes, 5 at once! And to make matters worse, I caught a little stomach bug and a nasty diaper rash...not a good week for me. Mommy tried to take pictures that week, but this is all she got...

Once I felt better, I was ready to pose for the camera again. One of my new favorite toys is my baby doll. I love to give her kisses and rock her (and sometimes eat her). I learned how to do these things with my baby doll from school. There are a couple of little babies in the infant class and I helped my teachers take care of them by bouncing them in the bouncy chair, entertaining them with rattles and once in a while trying to stick my finger in their mouths to suck on (they tell me no when I did this, but I was just trying to help). Anyway, they all thought that I was outgrowing the infant classroom so the decision was made to move me to the toddler room early. This usually doesn't happen until babies turn 1 and can walk. I am neither, but getting close to both. I just finished my first full week with the toddlers and I love it. I miss my old teachers and the babies, but I get to visit them sometimes. In the toddler room, we all eat together at a little table, go outside each day to play, have arts and crafts and math and science experiences. I also get to take a nap on a cot (only about an inch off the floor). To everyone's surprise, I sleep much better on the cot than I ever did in a crib in the infant room. I don't have any pictures from school to share, but here are some mommy and daddy took at home over the last few weeks.
Here I am with my baby...
Daddy went to the Renaissance Festival with his friends. I wasn't allowed to go this year, but he did bring me a pretty princess hat.
I learned how to climb up the stairs. Now mommy and daddy have denied me access with this gate.
Sometimes I play so hard I fall asleep while eating.
Sittin' pretty...

I also got to go on a field trip downtown (that's Washington, DC for those of you who aren't local) with mommy, daddy and some of their friends who were visiting. First, we went to the White House. President Obama was there that day and, although he was hidden, he was only about 25 feet away and we heard him talking. We also went to the Air and Space Museum and the American History Museum where I saw Dumbo, Kermit the Frog and Dorothy's ruby red slippers. It was a fun day!!

And last but not least, a little update on my walking. Last night I took 3 steps on my own, but most of the time I still need the help of my stroller, but watch me go! Now if I can just figure out how to steer that thing!

Till next time...
Love, Ryanne
